What is Educational Therapy?
Educational Therapy is a specialized intervention that assesses, defines and addresses a child's style of learning, identifying both strengths and weaknesses. Educational Therapy offers a corrective approach by treating the "whole child", focusing on the academic, cognitive, social and emotional well-being of the child. Any child with learning disabilities or other learning challenges can benefit from intensive individualized interventions designed to remediate learning deficits.
At Lloyd Educational Therapy, we meet with each child in a one-to-one setting, utilizing instructional tools geared towards the specific remediation areas identified for that child. The overall goal of therapy is for the child to achieve independence and success in his or her learning environment.
At Lloyd Educational Therapy, we offer:
- Academic evaluations designed to pinpoint areas of strength and weakness
- Specialized and individualized treatment plans to address goals dependent on remediation areas identified
- Remediation of learning disabilities such as dyslexia, non-verbal learning disorder, reading/writing disorder (Dysgraphia), math, visual/auditory processing, as well as test anxiety and poor organizational/study skills, and even disorders such as Asperger's, Fragile X, or Tourette Syndrome

- Communication/advocacy: consultation to school/teachers/IEP teams, assistance with development of 504 Accommodation Plans
- Placement Assistance: can visit various classroom settings to determine best school placement based on child's needs
